Property Tax Manager – SALT
The candidate will oversee the preparation and review of business personal property tax returns for taxpayers in a wide range of industries and complexities. Will manage a team of approximately 5 property tax preparers and reviewers with varying degrees of BPT experience during tax season. Ability to meet multiple states’ BPT deadlines and drive workflow. Resolve BPT audits and controversies, holistically handling discovery process. Property Tax Exemption and Reduced Rate Consulting. Consult on South Carolina Fee-in-Lieu of Tax (FILOT) agreements and managing discretionary credits and incentives over multiple years. Grow the BPT compliance and consulting practice. Draft internal and external SALT Alerts. Participate in the billing and collection process. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members. Recognize opportunities and market state and local tax services to clients and prospects.
