Director of Immigration Services
The candidate will handles legal matters that pertain to immigration. This position interprets and provides advice on immigration citizenship, political. asylum, and on the processes through which clients may secure travel, work or student visas. The Director also represents clients in immigration proceedings in U.S. Immigration Courts. Incumbent will serve in an active role to alleviate systemic issues and participate in advocacy efforts that impact our clients. Direct and oversee the Immigration Services department. Work with other program areas to seek input and recruit program participants. Create and maintain citizenship classes and increase immigration seminars. Prepare and present immigration presentations for community. Will troubleshoot and establish case strategy. Draft and file petitions/applications. Communicate with clients regarding case processing and procedural issues. Update and manage status reports. Prepare materials for and support completion of monthly reports and budgets as requested. Provide advice and guidance for matters such as visa applications, green cards, citizenship and naturalization, deportation issues, and employment for non-citizen. Active role in the communities served to alleviate immigration systemic issues and participate in advocacy efforts that impact our clients on a state and national level. Work on Immigration grants in conjunction with Development to expand programs and client service delivery. Participate in professional development through appropriate conferences, workshops, seminars, or webinars. Supervise Immigration department staff. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director . Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA -approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar. Must have 3+ years of immigration experience, Prior experience managing a workforce providing immigration services are required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Must have experience managing a large case goad PERM experience preferred. Strong background in a full range of non-immigrant and immigrant categories as well as I-140 and I-485 essential Commitment to supporting immigrants and refuge are required. Proven organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong attention to detail and follow through are required.
