Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate team in New York. The firm offers a comprehensive practice in Real Estate, Energy, Environmental, and Land Use, providing a wide range of experience and expertise. The ideal candidate will have significant training in medium to large loan lender-side mortgage financing transactions.

Duties

• Draft first set of loan documents and negotiate ancillary documents.
• Review and analyze title commitments, surveys, opinion letters, leases, and zoning reports.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting lenders during the diligence phase.
• Conduct weekly status calls and manage junior associates and paralegals.
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience in real estate finance transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the New York bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Ability to manage small teams with presence and composure.
• Experience with construction loans, mezzanine loans, and preferred equity investments is a plus.
