A law firm in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling management-side employment law litigation and providing day-to-day legal counsel to technology companies. This role involves advising on employment law issues, including terminations, leaves of absence, and employment mobility matters, as well as navigating employment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Duties:

  • Litigate employment law cases on behalf of management, including disputes related to terminations, leaves of absence, and policy issues.
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to fast-growing technology companies on various aspects of employment law, including reviewing and drafting company policies.
  • Counsel clients on employment mobility issues such as trade secrets, non-compete agreements, and employee non-solicitation matters.
  • Advise clients on employment-related issues during mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Draft and review employment-related agreements and documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes and regulatory matters before state and federal agencies.
  • Stay current with developments in employment law and provide strategic guidance based on evolving legal standards.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in management-side employment law litigation and counseling.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience advising technology companies is preferred.
  • Membership in the California State Bar is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employment law issues and provide practical legal solutions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the California State Bar (preferred).

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of employment law and litigation procedures.
  • Proficiency in advising on employment-related issues, including terminations, leaves of absence, and employment mobility.
  • Strong drafting and reviewing skills for employment-related documents and policies.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
