A law firm seeks a Senior Governance Attorney in Washington, D.C. This key leadership role involves overseeing complex governance, conflicts, and risk management processes. The attorney will provide strategic legal advice and collaborate with firm leadership on governance and compliance initiatives.

Duties

• Lead and oversee conflicts clearance for complex matters.
• Mentor and guide other Governance Attorneys and Analysts.
• Draft, review, and negotiate conflicts waivers and engagement letters.
• Review vendor agreements and third-party relationships for compliance.
• Develop and refine firm policies and best practices.
• Support firm-wide risk management initiatives.
• Advise on governance matters and ensure compliance with processes.
• Conduct and supervise legal research related to governance issues.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
• Admission and good standing to the California or DC Bar.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in law firm conflicts research and analysis.
• Proficient in Boolean Search Terms & Connectors.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in Intapp Conflicts/Intake or similar software.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications

• Admission to the California or DC Bar.
