Assistant Professor, Legal Studies

The candidate will teach undergraduate law courses in an ABA-approved legal studies program that prepares students to work in the legal profession as paralegals or who plan to attend law school. Will conduct scholarly applied research, initiate experiential-learning opportunities with students, advise students, and participate in departmental and university service. Work closely with the area Bar to expand internship and employment opportunities for students. Tach some evening and on-line courses, as needed, and must participate in student-related activities, such as a mock-trial team, student clubs, summer law camp, LSAT prep, and civic-engagement activities. Must have Juris Doctorate degree from a law school approved by the ABA or Association of American Law Schools, active Bar license, and a minimum of five years of practicing law as well as experience supervising paralegals. Should be licensed to practice law in Kentucky must obtain Kentucky license within twelve months of position acceptance.
