Assistant Professor of Political Science

The candidate will teach sections of Introduction to American Politics course, Administrative Law in the Master of Public Administration program and several upper division courses congruent with expertise from among the following: Constitutional Law (governmental powers), Civil Liberties, Environmental Law & Policy, Privacy in the Internet Age and Comparative Constitutional Law. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in public law but may be asked to teach a course (or courses) from among the following: European Parliamentary Democracies and/or Politics of the Middle East, National Security Strategy and/or courses in Intelligence Studies, Human Rights & Global Justice and/or International Law, U.N. & World Organizations, U.S. Foreign Policy and Introduction to Comparative Politics. Should have a strong teaching record. A Ph.D. degree in Political Science is required (advanced ABDs will be considered). The potential to develop and sustain an academic research program resulting in peer-reviewed publication record is also required. A Doctor of Jurisprudence degree (JD) is preferred. Teaching experience in a higher education environment is also preferred.
