Job Overview: A law firm in Springfield, MA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have immediate exposure to litigation, handling a diverse workload that includes drafting motions legal memoranda, conducting legal research, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing for and conducting depositions, and attending court hearings. The attorney will also be responsible for high-level correspondence and reports, showcasing excellent research and persuasive writing skills. This position requires admission to the Massachusetts State Bar and 2-4 years of civil litigation experience, including general courtroom experience and familiarity with the rules of court in the Superior, District, and Probate courts.

Duties:

• Drafting motions and legal memoranda.
• Conducting thorough legal research.
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Preparing for and conducting depositions.
• Attending court hearings.
• Handling a complex and diverse workload.
• Drafting high-level correspondence and reports.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar.
• 2-4 years of civil litigation experience.
• General courtroom experience and familiarity with the rules of court in the Superior, District, and Probate courts.
• Self-motivated with solid research and persuasive writing skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar.
