Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with experience in representing secured creditors in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. This remote position is ideally suited for candidates located in Baltimore, Maryland. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, though training is available for team-oriented individuals with less experience. A license to practice law in Maryland is required.

Duties

• Manage routine bankruptcy matters.
• Draft and review pleadings and claims.
• Attend scheduled hearings.
• Respond to firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries.
• Review client filings.
• Monitor electronic filings (ECFs).
• Resolve routine bankruptcy issues.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.

Requirements

• Knowledge of bankruptcy rules and creditor rights laws.
• Computer literacy and keyboard skills.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Time management and communication skills.

Education

• Law degree - JD.

Certifications

• Barred in Maryland.
• Admitted to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in MD.
