A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Attorney to join their Texas litigation team, based in Plano, TX, with remote options available for exceptional Texas residents. The role involves managing contested mortgage default matters across Texas.

Duties

• Handle complex mortgage default matters in state and federal courts throughout Texas.
• Monitor case progress managed by other Texas litigation attorneys.
• Provide guidance on complex matters to Texas litigation attorneys.
• Prepare and present monthly reports to managing attorney and partner.
• Manage defensive litigation involving state and federal statute violations.
• Obtain judicial foreclosure judgments in state and federal courts.
• Resolve mortgage defaults involving deceased borrowers in district and probate courts.

Requirements

• 5-7 years' experience in mortgage default or creditor's rights litigation in state and federal courts.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas state courts.
• Admitted to practice in federal court.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to ask questions when needed.
• Experience with CaseAware case management system.
• Experience with client portals such as Legal Tracker, BKFS/LPS, and Tempo.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Texas State Bar License.

• Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
