A law firm in Austin is seeking an IP Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, solid patent litigation and transactional experience in a large firm setting, and excellent writing and communication skills. Eligibility for registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is required, with preference given to registered practitioners.

 

Duties:

  • Handle patent litigation and transactional matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on intellectual property issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Assist in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on IP matters and case strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex litigation and transactional projects.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in patent litigation and transactions.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • Solid experience working in a large law firm environment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Eligibility for registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; registered practitioners preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • Eligibility for registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); registered practitioners preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of patent law and related litigation procedures.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
