Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented Intellectual Property Associate with 2 to 4 years of experience in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and/or false advertising law to join their intellectual property/technology litigation practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage intellectual property/technology litigation and enforcement matters in copyright, trademark, trade secret, false advertising, and AI spaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
  • Develop strategy for complex litigation and enforcement actions.
  • Counsel clients on legal risks related to product development.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and demonstrate strong legal writing skills.
  • Manage the discovery phase of litigation, including working with the client and vendors to run e-discovery.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong client-facing skills and work effectively as a team player.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in AI, trademark, copyright, false advertising, and/or trade-secret law including litigation.
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the Lanham Act, the Copyright Act, the DMCA, federal and state trade-secret statutes, and computer-access laws such as the CFAA and related state laws.
  • Trial experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to engage with a broad range of laws and legal principles necessary to support technology clients with legal disputes.
  • Highly motivated with excellent academic credentials and superior writing and communication skills.
  • Membership in the state in which you are submitting your application is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Membership in the State Bar where the position is located.
