A well-established Elder Law and Estate Planning firm based in Spokane, WA, with additional offices in the Tri-Cities and Coeur d'Alene, is seeking an Associate Attorney with expertise in Estate Planning and Elder Law. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, providing guidance on estate planning, trust administration, and long-term care planning. Duties

  • Conduct initial client consultations and develop estate planning strategies
  • Provide legal guidance on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Assist clients with long-term care planning and asset protection strategies
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including sophisticated estate plans
  • Work closely with executors and trustees in estate and trust administration
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants, delegating tasks as needed
  • Ensure clear client communication and timely follow-up
  • Lead final meetings with clients, ensuring their estate plans align with their goals

Requirements

  • Active member of the Washington State Bar (Possibility of licensure in Idaho and/or Oregon is a plus)
  • 1-3 years of experience in Elder Law, Estate Planning, or Estate Administration
  • Ability to manage cases and clients independently after an initial training period
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and confidence with clients
  • Detail-oriented, compassionate, and dedicated to client success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Washington State Bar License (Required)
  • Idaho and/or Oregon Bar License (Preferred but not required)

Skills

  • Strong legal writing and document drafting abilities
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive legal matters with professionalism and empathy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms
