Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Real Estate Associate to join its practice in New York. The role involves supporting and leading sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, leasing, and development transactions.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents such as purchase and sale agreements and loan documents.
• Support and manage acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets.
• Assist with real estate finance transactions, including drafting loan documents.
• Support commercial leasing matters, representing landlords and tenants.
• Conduct due diligence, including title, survey, and zoning analysis.
• Prepare closing checklists and coordinate closings with clients and other parties.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission in good standing in the jurisdiction where you will sit.
• 2-5 years of relevant real estate transactional experience.
• Strong legal writing, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience with title and survey review and other diligence components.
• Experience coordinating closings and managing transaction documentation.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction.
