Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking junior-level associates (1st to 4th year) for its Environmental Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to engage in sophisticated work relating to environmental regulatory compliance, enforcement, and transactions across several major U.S. markets. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest and foundational experience in environmental law, along with a strong academic background.

Location:

• Palo Alto, CA

Duties:

• Provide counsel on environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement matters

• Advise on environmental aspects of corporate transactions and restructuring cases

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on federal and state environmental laws

• Support litigation efforts involving environmental liabilities

• Contribute to administrative and regulatory proceedings involving environmental issues

Requirements:

• 1 to 4 years of experience in environmental regulatory law

• Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act

• Experience with environmental liabilities in restructuring and/or environmental litigation is highly desirable

• Background in administrative law and/or corporate restructuring with an interest in environmental law is acceptable

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• High attention to detail and organizational capabilities
