A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Labor and Employment practice group in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate will be a bright, dedicated, and highly motivated attorney ready to contribute to the firm's goal of becoming a trusted legal counsel for small- and mid-sized businesses in Kentucky.

Duties

• Defend discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage-and-hour claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
• Advise business owners and HR personnel on employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related contracts, including non-compete agreements.
• Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or eligibility for admission.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in labor-and-employment law preferred.
• Litigation experience in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
