Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Technical Specialist, Patent Agent in Alexandria, VA. The position involves working with industry leaders in semiconductor manufacturing, telecommunication, and circuit design. The role includes direct client interaction and comprehensive patent drafting and prosecution responsibilities, supported by senior professionals.

Duties

• Draft patent applications based on invention disclosures.
• Conduct inventor interviews.
• Communicate with clients.
• Review and analyze Office Actions.
• Draft Amendments/Responses for Office Actions.
• Accept feedback from supervising Associates and Partners.
• Ensure timely communication and completion of tasks.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in patent prosecution, including drafting 20 US patent applications.
• Experience in the semiconductor field, including chip design, circuit design, circuit layouts, and/or chip architecture.
• Versatility in other technical areas is a plus.

Education

• BA/BS required; Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.

Certifications

• Open to registered Agents and Technical Specialists.

Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of semiconductor and circuit technology.
• Attention to detail and outstanding writing ability.
• Mandarin language capability is a plus.
