Dean, School of Law

Duties: Reports to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Has oversight responsibility for all internal administrative matters, and for representing the the school to all of its external constituents. Developing a compelling vision and implementing strategic steps which promote and advance Law’s national and international reputation in collaboration with faculty, staff, and university leadership; Providing inspiring leadership and responsible oversight for Emory Law to ensure that all aspects of the institution effectively serve the research, teaching, and service missions of University; Providing strong administrative oversight in developing and managing the structural, financial, and human resources of Law; Developing and improving the financial and physical resources of Law, especially through advancement and fundraising; Defining clearly the role of a great law school in the context of a great research university and working collaboratively with faculty and university leadership to align and implement Law’s mission with the university’s strategic priorities; Enhancing Law’s relationships with alumni, members of the legal profession, community members and other external constituencies and stakeholders; and Fostering a culture of academic eminence and intellectual exchange within Law and within the university community more.
