Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Potomac, MD, is actively seeking a full-time Junior Attorney to support its thriving estate planning and probate division. This role is best suited for someone early in their legal career who is passionate about helping clients plan for the future and navigate estate and trust administration. Candidates will gain valuable experience while working alongside a seasoned legal team and will have the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge in high-net-worth estate planning strategies.

Duties:

• Draft basic and advanced estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney

• Handle estate and trust administration matters, including probate filings, accountings, and distributions

• Meet with clients and family members to understand goals, explain legal concepts, and implement planning strategies

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on sophisticated planning techniques

• Conduct legal research and prepare related memoranda

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in estate planning or probate law

• Admission to the Maryland Bar or eligibility to waive in, DC, and/or VA licensure is a strong advantage

• Willingness to work on-site full-time in Potomac, MD

• Demonstrated interest in developing deep expertise in estate and trust matters

• Commitment to client service and professional growth

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Maryland

• Bar admission in Washington, D.C., and/or Virginia preferred but not required

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a deadline-driven environment

Job Location:

• Potomac, Maryland (on-site attendance required)
