Job Overview: A respected law firm is seeking a skilled Associate/Of Counsel Attorney to join its Litigation team. This role involves assisting senior lawyers with legal research, drafting documents, consulting with clients, providing expert legal advice, and preparing for trials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation practices and will work closely with experienced attorneys to support case strategy and client representation.

Location:

• Lenexa, KS

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and settlement agreements.
• Advise clients regularly on the status of their cases.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Assist in trial preparation and attend trials as needed.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and legal approaches.
• Maintain membership in the Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations and fulfill Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
• Adhere to the ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct in Kansas and Missouri.
• Provide excellent client service and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.
• Strong knowledge of litigation processes and case management.
• Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional drafting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff, both verbally and in writing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of litigation and legal procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal document preparation.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and collaborate effectively with senior attorneys.
