A law firm seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of litigation experience to join its Los Angeles office. The role involves defending public and private entities in high-exposure matters, including employment disputes, personal injuries, and class actions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in depositions, discovery, and motion practice, and will interact professionally with clients and opposing counsel.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Review and analyze documents for production
• Conduct legal research
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft pleadings and motions
• Attend hearings and argue motions
• Prepare pre-trial and trial documents
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate in proceedings
• Report effectively to clients

Requirements

• Admission to the bar in California
• Extensive litigation experience
• Strong legal writing and communication skills
• Effective oral advocacy
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Problem-solving skills

Education

• Juris Doctor from a reputable law school

Certifications

• California Bar Admission
