Job Title: Junior Structured Finance Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Structured Finance group. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex derivative transactions, focusing on regulatory protocols, transactional documentation under ISDA, and related structured finance matters. This role is suited for candidates with hands-on experience negotiating derivative contracts and an in-depth understanding of financial regulatory frameworks.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate agreements under the ISDA Master Agreement, including Schedules, Credit Support Annexes, and Confirmations

• Advise on regulatory frameworks related to over-the-counter derivatives (e.g., Dodd-Frank protocols)

• Support structured finance transactions involving derivative instruments

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop and implement derivative strategies

• Perform legal research and due diligence related to derivatives and financing arrangements

• Review and analyze complex financial instruments and legal risks associated with such structures

• Maintain awareness of evolving legal and market developments impacting derivatives

• Contribute to client presentations and other business development efforts

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of substantive experience in derivatives and structured finance

• Proven background negotiating and advising on ISDA documentation and related derivatives contracts

• Familiarity with regulatory issues related to derivatives, including U.S. and international frameworks

• Experience gained at a recognized U.S.-based law firm, ideally an AmLaw 100

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois
