A law firm seeks a dynamic individual to lead the Immigration Law Department in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vision, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in managing a team of attorneys and paralegals.

Duties

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of attorneys and paralegals.
• Monitor specialized caseloads for deadlines and required actions.
• Oversee team members' caseloads and workload distribution.
• Review open and closed cases for recordkeeping and file maintenance.
• Prepare and submit filings for USCIS, DOS, and EOIR.
• Conduct hearings before EOIR and prepare related filings.
• Prepare FOIA requests and conduct background checks.
• Act as lead counsel on immigration cases, ensuring high-quality representation.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, and judicial officers.
• Conduct and participate in departmental meetings.
• Mentor and train paralegals and staff attorneys.
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary issues.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the United States.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in Immigration Law.
• Experience with USCIS cases and consular processing preferred.
• Experience with EOIR cases required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and strategic planning ability.
• Proven leadership and management experience.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the United States.
