Job Overview:

A nationally recognized, full-service law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of two years of experience to join its Chicago office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex civil litigation matters with a dynamic team of experienced attorneys. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, exceptional writing skills, and experience handling discovery, motions, depositions, and court appearances. Judicial clerkship experience is a plus but not required.

Location:

• Chicago, Illinois

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, including dispositive motions

• Participate in the management and execution of complex discovery strategies

• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and court proceedings

• Assist with trial preparation and client communications

• Conduct legal research and factual investigations

• Collaborate closely with litigation partners and other team members

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm or clerkship setting

• Demonstrated experience with motion practice, discovery, and court appearances

• Judicial clerkship experience (preferred but not required)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois or ability to become licensed promptly

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, analysis, and writing skills

• Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities

• Ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously

• Team-oriented mindset and professional integrity

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills
