Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Mergers & Acquisitions Clearance Team. This role focuses on regulatory antitrust matters related to M&A transactions, including Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act compliance and coordination of global merger control filings. The position offers the opportunity to support high-profile antitrust, corporate, and private equity transactions while working closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Assess HSR reportability for domestic and cross-border M&A transactions

  • Prepare HSR filings and manage the end-to-end filing process

  • Coordinate with corporate deal teams, clients, and opposing counsel on HSR and regulatory filings

  • Liaise with European-based teams on international merger control filings

  • Provide antitrust regulatory support to corporate and private equity deal teams

  • Assist in Second Request responses, competitor transaction reviews, and general antitrust counseling

  • Work closely with senior attorneys to ensure compliance with U.S. and global merger control laws

Requirements:

  • 3 to 9 years of antitrust/competition law experience focused on M&A clearance

  • Familiarity with HSR regulations and merger control filing procedures

  • Experience advising private equity clients and supporting transactional teams preferred

  • Background in regulatory, corporate M&A, or government agency work is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication abilities and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage complex filings and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within deal teams

  • Strong interest in antitrust regulatory work (non-litigation)
