A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Labor & Employment Group in Albany, NY. The successful candidate will handle complex investigations, litigation, and counseling matters for employers, serving as a trusted advisor and managing high-stakes disputes.

Duties

• Conduct internal corporate and government investigations.
• Defend and litigate employment-related claims and agency charges.
• Handle wage and hour matters, including collective and class actions.
• Advise and train employers on employment and labor law issues.
• Represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Assist in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions.
• Defend unfair labor practice filings at the NLRB and improper practice charges at PERB.
• Advise on FMLA, ADA, ADEA, NYS Civil Service Law, and religious accommodation requests.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of labor and employment law experience.
• Experience handling investigations and litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and exercise sound judgment.
• Commitment to client service and high ethical standards.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
