Duties

  • Manage litigation matters related to real estate and creditors' rights
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and analyze issues related to civil procedure and litigation strategy
  • Appear in court for hearings and other proceedings as required
  • Utilize case management and reporting software to track and manage assigned matters
  • Communicate with clients regarding case developments and legal strategies
  • Support loss mitigation efforts and related legal processes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective case strategies and solutions

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in real estate litigation, civil litigation, or creditors' rights practice
  • Strong understanding of civil procedure and motions practice
  • Knowledge of foreclosure, eviction, title and lien priority issues, title claims, and creditors' rights matters
  • Familiarity with laws such as TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances when required
  • Commitment to strong client service and proactive communication

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Michigan State Bar
  • Additional bar admissions are considered beneficial
