Duties

  • Lead all phases of False Claims Act and Qui Tam litigation, from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
  • Draft and file complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and government officials.
  • Coordinate parallel government investigations and liaise with U.S. Attorneys' Offices and regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise discovery, including document review, e-discovery protocols, and privilege logs.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with senior partners and clients.
  • Mentor junior associates and manage paralegal staff.
  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trial proceedings.

Requirements

  • 19 years of civil litigation experience, focusing on False Claims Act and Qui Tam matters.
  • Demonstrated success securing favorable resolutions through motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial verdicts.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional cases.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active admission to the New Jersey State Bar (and admission in other relevant jurisdictions as required).
  • Membership in the American Bar Association's Litigation Section or associations focused on qui tam litigation (preferred).

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the federal False Claims Act, related statutes, and qui tam procedural rules.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and case-management software.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic-planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate client relationships.
  • Effective negotiation and courtroom advocacy presence.
