The candidate will serve as owner and project manager of internal insurance certificate tracking program, including selecting a new vendor and the immigration of all data. Abstract leases and input insurance requirements into third-party certificate tracking vendor. Serve as point of contact for, manage, and timely resolve of compliance-escalation issues. Regularly interact with tenants, vendors, contractors and their respective agents, brokers, producers, and representatives to confirm certificate compliance. Assist attorneys, paralegals, and insurance broker with insurance requirements and due diligence for international acquisitions. Conduct OFAC sanctions screening on buyers, sellers, tenants, and guarantors. Monitor ongoing screening for OFAC sanctions for the portfolio of tenants and guarantors. Receive and review lawsuits, pre-litigation letters, and claims, lien matters. Analyze leases, contracts, and related documents to determine liability and course of action. Serve as point of contact for outside counsel and tenants throughout the pendency of litigation and claim and lien matters. Receive and review Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and other requests or subpoenas for financial documents. Assist attorneys and paralegals with corporate records retention as needed . Minimum of 2+ years of relevant or on-point legal experience. Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in commercial real estate transaction law preferred. A paralegal certificate from an ABA approved school. Ability to perform a variety of duties within established time frames, demonstrating flexibility to change from one task to another as circumstances dictate. Ability to form and maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues and work well with a diverse group of attorneys, paralegals and other legal staff, as well as business and other contacts. Solid organizational and administrative skills, including ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. Sound analytical and critical thinking abilities. Reasonably strong understanding of basic legal document drafting. Strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to take direction, while working independently and taking the initiative to seek guidance as appropriate. Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe and general internet and legal research.
