Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate for their St. Louis or Southern Illinois office, focusing on toxic tort and product liability cases, including asbestos matters. This position offers hybrid work options post-onboarding. Candidates must hold a Missouri and/or Illinois law license.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation.
• Attend depositions, settlement conferences, and other hearings.
• Prepare motions, discovery responses, and client reports.
• Assist in trial preparation, including strategy, discovery, records review, client interviews, and witness preparation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience in toxic tort, asbestos, pharmaceutical, medical device matters, or commercial litigation.
• Extensive experience with witness, party, and expert depositions preferred.
• Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and/or Illinois.

Skills

• Strong case management and strategic planning abilities.
• Proficient in legal research and writing.
• Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
