Patent Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney for its Malvern, PA office. The Patent Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and services related to patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background, preferably in the mechanical or electrical arts, and have 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Duties:

• Conduct patentability and freedom to operate analyses
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions
• Communicate with clients regarding patent matters
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on patent-related issues
• Assist in patent litigation matters as needed
• Collaborate with inventors and technical experts to understand inventions

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
• 1-3 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Strong understanding of patent law and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
