Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm in Raleigh, NC is seeking a seasoned employment litigation attorney to serve in an Of Counsel capacity. This role is ideal for a legal professional with substantial litigation experience and a focus on employment law matters. The position offers the opportunity to provide both courtroom representation and strategic guidance to employers navigating complex workplace legal issues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong litigation acumen, advisory skills, and the ability to manage multiple client needs within a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

• Defend employers in a variety of employment-related lawsuits, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employment contracts

• Handle agency charges and administrative matters before federal and state agencies

• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and courtroom proceedings, including class and collective actions

• Advise organizations on compliance with employment laws and proactive risk management strategies

• Interpret and apply federal and state labor and employment regulations to client matters

• Draft and review legal documents, motions, and pleadings related to employment litigation

• Participate in strategic planning with clients and internal teams on legal defense and compliance approaches

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for prior employment law exposure

• Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation independently from inception through resolution

• Admitted to the North Carolina Bar or eligible for swift admission

• Familiarity with court procedures and regulatory frameworks in employment-related legal contexts

• Excellent research, analytical, and advocacy capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law institution

• Strong academic track record

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in North Carolina or pending eligibility for admission

Skills:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication proficiency

• Ability to manage competing deadlines and legal priorities

• Strong organizational, planning, and project execution abilities

• Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and team collaboration
