The ideal candidate should be licensed and in good standing in Kansas and Missouri, with a background in civil rights, employment law, and general tort defense. Responsibilities will include handling all aspects of litigation, including depositions, motion practice, and trial.

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of litigation, including case management, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
• Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and legal analysis.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
• Stay updated on developments in relevant areas of law.

Requirements:

• Licensed and in good standing in both Kansas and Missouri.
• 1-3 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
• Background in civil rights, employment law, and general tort defense preferred.
• Superior writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
• Strong academic record from an accredited law school.
• Excellent oral advocacy skills and ability to represent clients effectively in court.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
