Job Overview:
A leading California-based insurance defense law firm is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its remote team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex insurance defense cases from inception through trial. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented litigator with strong courtroom experience, capable of working independently and contributing to a collaborative team.

Location:

• Pleasanton, CA

Duties:

• Manage a caseload from initial assignment through resolution, handling all phases of litigation.
• Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with clients.
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
• Draft and argue motions in court.
• Prepare legal opinions, analysis, and other necessary documentation.
• Lead trials as first chair, including preparation and court appearances.
• Work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
• Travel within California for court appearances and trials, as required.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a desire to handle complex cases.
• Strong litigation skills with a track record of successful motion practice.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload and work independently.
• Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and trials.
• Ability to maintain strong team collaboration while working remotely.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in taking depositions and examinations under oath.
• Experience in developing case strategy in collaboration with clients.
• Background in handling cases through trial as lead attorney.

Education & Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (required).

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in managing cases remotely and working within a virtual team setting.
