Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements and technology contracts
• Advise corporate clients on privacy compliance, including U.S. and international regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
• Support due diligence and risk assessments related to mergers, acquisitions, and data-sharing transactions
• Develop privacy policies, consent language, and internal governance frameworks
• Assist clients in responding to data incidents and regulatory inquiries
• Monitor regulatory trends and update clients on compliance best practices

Requirements

• 3 years of experience focusing on data privacy and transactional matters
• Experience working with cross-border data transfer issues and global privacy frameworks
• Strong understanding of privacy implications in technology-driven industries
• Demonstrated experience advising clients on commercial contracts with privacy components

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing, preferably in Illinois
• IAPP certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPT) considered a plus
