Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in New Haven, CT is seeking a qualified Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its dynamic legal team. This role focuses on providing legal guidance on matters related to cybersecurity incidents, data breach responses, and compliance with data privacy laws. The attorney will work alongside experienced legal professionals and engage with various aspects of litigation, advisory, and client counseling.

Duties:

• Counsel clients on data privacy and cybersecurity regulations, including federal and state laws.
• Provide legal guidance during security incidents and data breaches, including overseeing forensic investigations.
• Assist in the development of enterprise-wide privacy and security policies for clients.
• Represent clients in enforcement actions by the U.S. Office for Civil Rights and state Attorneys General.
• Engage in litigation related to data privacy issues, including drafting briefs, managing discovery, and attending court hearings.
• Advise on technology contracts and compliance with state-specific data privacy requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data protection strategies and artificial intelligence (AI) regulations.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of legal experience in cybersecurity and data privacy.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage both independent work and teamwork in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Admission to practice law in Connecticut.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the Bar in Connecticut.

Skills:

• Proficiency in handling cybersecurity incidents and forensic data breach investigations.
• Strong understanding of federal and state data privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience with litigation management, including discovery, brief writing, and court appearances.
• Knowledge of AI regulations is a plus.
