Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in Chicago, IL. The attorney will provide legal representation and counsel to companies, municipalities, and local governments in the defense of workers' compensation and occupational disease claims. This position offers a hybrid work environment with both part-time and full-time opportunities.

Duties

• Organize and maintain case files from claim inception through appeals.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Workers' Compensation and Occupational Diseases Acts.
• Draft necessary documents and prepare for and attend hearings before the IWCC and Courts.
• Manage timely communication with clients.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of prior experience in workers' compensation or defense.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
