Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Workers' Compensation team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of practice experience in workers' compensation defense and a portable book of business. Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and DC, with Maryland preferred.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of workers' compensation experience encouraged.
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia and DC; Maryland preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar license required.
