Duties

• Handle litigation matters involving professional liability defense for healthcare providers

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare responsive pleadings

• Manage case strategy and development

• Defend and conduct depositions

• Investigate legal matters and develop supporting evidence

• Represent clients in court proceedings and before healthcare licensing boards

• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff in a team environment

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience

• Experience in healthcare and/or medical/healthcare training/background is a plus.

• Experience with law and motion work, depositions, and case investigation

• Background in healthcare or familiarity with healthcare law is a strong advantage

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative work ethic

• Willingness to work in-office, hybrid, or fully remote as needed

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

Skills

• Strong legal writing and analytical skills

• Proficiency in legal research and motion drafting

• Skilled in deposition defense and testimony gathering

• Familiarity with healthcare litigation and administrative board proceedings

• Effective communication and case management skills

• Comfort working with AI-supported legal research tools such as Lexis+ AI
