Job Overview:

A well-established law firm located in York, Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join its team. This position focuses primarily on family law matters such as divorce, custody, and child support, as well as criminal law cases. While prior experience in these areas is highly preferred, applicants with experience in other areas of law are also encouraged to apply. The role will involve both client representation and legal research, with occasional travel to neighboring counties for court appearances.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation for clients in family law and criminal law cases
• Prepare and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and briefs
• Represent clients in court proceedings in York County and surrounding counties, including Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and Perry
• Communicate regularly with clients to update them on case status and offer legal advice
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on complex legal issues
• Maintain detailed case files and documentation
• Collaborate with other attorneys and administrative staff to ensure seamless client service

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar Association
• Experience in handling family law and criminal law cases is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Familiarity with legal software and general computer programs
• A background in family law and criminal law is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and research skills
• Strong interpersonal and client communication abilities
• Proficiency in legal software and standard office tools
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
