Job Overview:
A highly respected plaintiff-side personal injury law firm located in Houston's Galleria area is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its litigation team. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with a strong background in handling catastrophic injury cases. The successful candidate will manage a robust caseload, take cases from inception through trial, and contribute meaningfully to obtaining justice for seriously injured clients.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of 60–80 active personal injury cases with minimal supervision

  • Draft and file petitions, motions, and discovery documents

  • Take and defend depositions, including experts, fact witnesses, and corporate representatives

  • Supervise client medical treatment and manage litigation deadlines

  • Attend and argue motions in state and federal courts

  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trial

  • Prepare complex motions and trial briefs

  • Contribute to strategy for case resolution and verdict preparation

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in personal injury litigation (plaintiff or defense)

  • Comfortable independently managing high-volume caseloads

  • Strong trial skills; first-chair trial experience is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with written discovery, depositions, and motion practice

  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment

  • Commitment to client advocacy and achieving top results

  • Strong leadership and case management abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license and in good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing

  • Verbal advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Strategic litigation planning

  • Case evaluation and resolution

  • Interpersonal communication and client relations

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize across a heavy caseload

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with catastrophic injury cases including trucking, oilfield, maritime, and wrongful death claims

  • Prior judicial clerkship, particularly with appellate courts, is a plus

  • Trial experience in both state and federal court
