A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney with 8+ years of experience to join its Litigation Practice Group in New York, NY. This role is ideal for an attorney with substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, particularly involving financial institutions, commercial real estate, and loan servicing disputes. Remote candidates barred in states where the firm operates may be considered.

Duties

• Lead and manage litigation teams in complex commercial matters in federal and state courts nationwide.
• Represent financial institutions in workouts of non-performing commercial real estate loans and related matters.
• Handle litigation and loan servicing matters related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
• Manage contested bankruptcy matters, UCC sales, and mezzanine loan enforcement.
• Defend financial institutions in lender liability actions, including breach of contract and fraud claims.
• Represent clients in arbitration proceedings, including before the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
• Represent title insurance companies in claims involving fraudulent deeds and lien priority disputes.
• Represent landlords and tenants in commercial lease litigation.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in the state of the office location or ability to obtain promptly.
• Minimum 8+ years of complex commercial litigation experience.
• Significant experience representing financial institutions, servicers, or lenders.
• Strong background in commercial real estate litigation and secured creditor remedies.
• Experience handling contested matters in both federal and state courts.
• Experience managing cases independently and leading litigation teams.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and client management skills.

Preferred Experience

• CMBS and loan servicing litigation.
• Distressed real estate and mezzanine loan enforcement.
• Bankruptcy litigation related to secured lending.
• Arbitration experience.
• Title insurance litigation.
