Job Overview:
A law firm located in Summerville, SC is currently seeking a qualified Real Estate and/or Estate Planning Attorney to join its legal team. Duties:
Provide legal guidance on commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, leasing, dispositions, and financing
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and leases
Conduct due diligence and risk analysis for real estate transactions
Advise clients on estate planning matters including wills, trusts, and asset protection strategies (if applicable)
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate and estate planning regulations
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas when applicable
Utilize research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for legal support and case strategy
Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation
Requirements:
Experience in commercial real estate or estate planning law (both preferred, but not required)
Ability to manage a variety of legal matters independently
Strong attention to detail and legal analysis
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable interacting with clients and stakeholders
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in the South Carolina Bar or eligibility to practice in South Carolina
Skills:
Proficiency in drafting and reviewing real estate and estate planning documents
Skilled in legal research using Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, or similar platforms
Strong time management and organizational skills
Familiarity with laws and regulations related to commercial property and estate planning
Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team
