Associate Attorney needed for Chicago office

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Chicago, IL office.

Job Overview: The Associate Attorney will primarily assist in preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, communicating with clients and attorneys, and supporting various legal matters.

Duties:

• Assist with preparing motions, petitions, court filings, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
• Answer phone calls and emails from attorneys and clients
• Organize and maintain attorney's files
• Maintain communication with clients, vendors, attorneys, etc.
• Keep updated records of assigned tasks and activities
• Cover court appearances and assist with litigation as necessary
• Provide support for other attorneys as needed

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience as an attorney with experience in estate planning, guardianship, and/or probate/trusts or litigation/court experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while under pressure is preferred
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Familiarity with legal research methods (e.g., case studies, legal databases, etc.) preferred

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity
