A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate in Chicago, IL. This role involves handling patent and other intellectual property litigation in federal court, covering all phases from pleadings to trial preparation.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes and collaborate with experts.
• Advise clients on patent and intellectual property rights issues.
• Engage in trial preparation and dispositive motions.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of law firm experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Experience with patent prosecution and technical areas such as mechanical, electromechanical, software, and electrical inventions is preferred.
• Experience in federal court litigation is strongly preferred.
• Admission to the State Bar or ability to waive in immediately.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is desirable.
