Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Sacramento, California is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience who is ready to advance their career in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The role includes direct client interaction, courtroom representation, and strategic case management within a well-supported immigration practice group.

Duties:
Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct consultations and explain complex immigration concepts in a clear, strategic manner
Manage a personal caseload from intake to resolution
Visit detention facilities to perform intake interviews with detained individuals
Prepare and review a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense
Make necessary revisions to client applications and legal documents
Prepare legal briefs and written submissions for immigration proceedings
Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for USCIS or court testimony
Provide legal analysis to determine eligibility for immigration relief
Liaise with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law updates
Requirements:
1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law
Proven ability to manage legal cases effectively and move them forward
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained cases, and citizenship applications
Familiarity with case management software is a plus
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction
