Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Sacramento, California is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience who is ready to advance their career in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The role includes direct client interaction, courtroom representation, and strategic case management within a well-supported immigration practice group.

Location:

  • Sacramento, CA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct consultations and explain complex immigration concepts in a clear, strategic manner

  • Manage a personal caseload from intake to resolution

  • Visit detention facilities to perform intake interviews with detained individuals

  • Prepare and review a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense

  • Make necessary revisions to client applications and legal documents

  • Prepare legal briefs and written submissions for immigration proceedings

  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for USCIS or court testimony

  • Provide legal analysis to determine eligibility for immigration relief

  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law updates

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law

  • Proven ability to manage legal cases effectively and move them forward

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained cases, and citizenship applications

  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction

Skills:
