Legal Assistant
The candidate will work for Immigrant Relations. Will coordinate day-to-day office operations while also supporting clients, legal team members, and volunteers. Process client files and collate legal documentation. Submit case processing forms to USCIS. Communicate with clients about case progress. Complete client screening interviews and client consultations. Complete accounting tasks- create invoices, receive payments, and issue receipts. Receive and scan bills to accounting software for various vendors. Prepare deposits and deliver deposits to the bank. Record donations and send acknowledgments to donors. Answer calls, forward messages and schedule appointments. Order supplies and inventory.Complete other duties as assigned from time to time. Should have fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal). Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required. Must have basic IT functions related to computers and copier and comfort with programs such as- Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, Skype. Familiarity with Quickbooks is an asset.Anticipated Work Schedule: 35 – 40 hours with option for remote work - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
