Job Overview

A law firm seeks a licensed Associate Foreclosure Attorney for its Chicago, IL office. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of litigation experience in Real Estate Law and will manage a diverse caseload, including title litigation and contested foreclosures.

Duties

• Draft complaints, dispositive motions, ADR summaries, and settlement documents.
• Attend court hearings, including motion hearings and trials, throughout Illinois.
• Review and respond to discovery requests and conduct depositions.
• Investigate facts and legal issues to determine causes of action.
• Research and interpret statutes, rules, and case law.
• Ensure deadlines are maintained and enter billable time.
• Comply with client requirements and provide strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Illinois.
• Licensed in the Northern District of Illinois; ability to gain licensure in Central and Southern Districts.
• Minimum 2-4 years of litigation experience.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed in the State of Illinois.
• Licensed in the Northern District of Illinois.

Skills

• Proficient with LexisNexis Advance and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Case Management Systems (Case Aware Software a plus).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Excellent research and investigative skills.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
