Mid-level Contracts Associate General Counsel

Profile

Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks mid-level contracts associate general counsel with 6+ years of experience. The candidate will report to the Assistant General Counsel and which operates with management responsibility, as delegated by the General Counsel, for a wide range of in-house legal activities conducted by the firm. Will provide practical legal counsel and develop creative/practical solutions to questions arising in a variety of diverse legal fields such as commercial transactions, contracts, employment and immigration, intellectual property, taxation, litigation, and public policy. Work with cross-functional teams to negotiate and review technology, licensing, intellectual property, consulting, marketing, service, and other domestic and international agreements. Negotiate, draft and execute agreements and contracts on behalf of the organization. Advise senior managers and other employees within the Society. Provide occasional training to firm employees and governance on legal topics. Keep up to date on legislation and regulations affecting firm programs, products, and services, ensuring compliance with applicable legal provisions and reporting requirements. Must be a Member, or ability to waive into, the D.C. Bar. Extensive experience reviewing, redlining, and managing commercial contracts and agreements, including emerging technology, SaaS, professional services, and outsourcing agreements essential. Strong preference for relevant experience in two or more of the following areas needed: licensing; privacy/GDPR; intellectual property; general publishing issues; and general litigation.
