A law firm in Austin is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney with 6+ years of experience in IP litigation, preferably with trial experience. The ideal candidate should have a technical background in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas. They must possess strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service. The role entails independently conducting research, drafting substantive pleadings and motions, managing discovery practices, participating in hearings and depositions, and interfacing directly with clients. The attorney will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities for increasing levels of responsibility and client contact.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct independent research and analysis on intellectual property law matters.
  • Draft substantive pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Organize, conduct, and manage discovery practices.
  • Participate in hearings and depositions.
  • Interface directly with clients and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Work closely with experienced lawyers for mentoring and career development.

 

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Technical background in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Trial experience preferred.

 

Education:
